Entry requirements and support
Applicants must be aged 18 or over.
The programme includes Skincare to Support Aesthetic Procedures (AP301), providing underpinning skincare knowledge and supporting learners entering without a previous Level 3 beauty qualification.
Learners must also hold or complete current training in basic life support, anaphylaxis and choking, in line with centre requirements. If you need this training, our team can help arrange it.

What will I study?
The qualification develops theoretical understanding and practical competence through the following units:
- Health, Safety and Hygiene for Aesthetic Procedures — safe, hygienic and professional working practices.
- Client Consultation for Aesthetic Procedures — consultations, suitability assessment, informed consent and treatment planning.
- Biochemistry and Biology of Cells — cellular structure, function and the interaction between aesthetic procedures and the skin.
- Skin Morphology and the Inflammatory Response — skin structure, function, healing and responses to aesthetic treatments.
- Skin Disorders and Diseases Relative to Aesthetic Practice — recognising conditions, contraindications and situations requiring adaptation or referral.
- Skincare to Support Aesthetic Procedures — skincare knowledge, treatment preparation and post-procedure care.
- Skin Rejuvenation Using Dermaplaning — the knowledge and practical skills required to perform dermaplaning safely and effectively.
- Skin Rejuvenation Using Superficial Chemical Peels — selecting, planning and safely delivering superficial chemical peel treatments.
How will I learn?
Our flexible blended-learning approach combines supported theory and coursework completed from home with regular tutor-led sessions and practical training at our Bristol training centre.
Small classes provide time for questions, individual feedback and tutor support. During practical sessions, you will develop your skills under close supervision and build confidence before assessment.

Can I start without a beauty qualification?
The programme supports beginners aged 18 or over and includes AP301 skincare learning. Your starting point depends on your existing qualifications and experience, so contact us for a free eligibility check. Current basic life support, anaphylaxis and choking training must also be held or completed.
Is the Level 4 aesthetics course online or in person?

Can I progress to Levels 5 and 7?
