What will I study?

The Diploma contains five mandatory units:

  • Dermatology, Anatomy and Pathophysiology for Clinical Aesthetic Practice — developing the scientific knowledge that informs assessment and treatment decisions.
  • Complication Management for Aesthetic Practice — recognising risks, reducing complications and responding appropriately.
  • Body Dysmorphia Disorder and Psychological First Aid in Beauty, Wellness and Aesthetic Practice — understanding psychological wellbeing, professional boundaries and appropriate referral.
  • Clinical Aesthetic Procedures: Botulinum Toxin Injections for the Face — developing consultation, planning and practical treatment skills.
  • Clinical Aesthetic Procedures: Temporary Dermal Fillers for the Face — developing assessment, treatment planning and practical competence.

How will I learn?

Our flexible blended approach combines supported theory and coursework with tutor-led sessions and supervised practical training at our Bristol training centre.

Classes are limited to a maximum of six learners, allowing time for questions, constructive feedback and individual guidance.

Throughout the programme, you will connect your scientific knowledge with consultation, treatment planning, practical decision-making and reflective practice. You will receive regular tutor contact and support as you develop your portfolio.

Practical experience and treatment evidence

Practical competence is central to the qualification. The procedure units require:

  • 10 formative facial botulinum toxin procedures
  • 10 summative facial botulinum toxin procedures
  • 10 formative facial dermal filler procedures
  • 10 summative facial dermal filler procedures

Formative work supports learning and development through feedback. Summative work provides evidence for the assessment of your competence.

Your practical evidence also includes consultation, consent, treatment planning, aftercare, evaluation and reflection. Practical work must follow the qualification requirements and take place under appropriate supervision.

Our team will explain practical attendance, model arrangements and the evidence you need to complete before you enrol.

Prescribing and professional practice

Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine. Appropriate prescribing arrangements form part of responsible clinical practice.

Learners and practitioners must work within their professional scope, insurance requirements, applicable legislation and appropriate prescribing and clinical-governance arrangements.

Assessment and certification

The qualification is assessed on a pass-or-fail basis. Assessment may include:

  • Practical observations and competency assessments
  • Short-answer and extended-response questions
  • Professional discussions and oral questioning
  • Written assignments and treatment documentation
  • Consultation and complication-management evidence
  • Scenario-based activities and role play
  • Reflective journals
  • A portfolio demonstrating your knowledge and practical competence

Assessment is internally marked and quality assured by Sisu’amor and is subject to external quality assurance by Qualifi.

You will receive tutor guidance and constructive feedback throughout the programme. Certification follows successful completion of the qualification requirements and the required quality-assurance processes.
