• Practitioners seeking advanced competence in facial botulinum toxin and temporary dermal filler procedures

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be aged 20 or over.

Applicants will normally need to hold an appropriate regulated Level 5 or Level 6 qualification in aesthetic practice that includes at least one Level 6 unit, or another accepted regulated qualification that meets Qualifi’s current entry requirements.

An alternative route may be available to appropriately registered healthcare professionals who can demonstrate relevant skincare and anatomy and physiology knowledge. Professional registration must be current, unrestricted and verified.

Learners must also hold or complete current training in basic life support, anaphylaxis and choking in line with centre requirements. If you do not currently hold the required training, please get in touch and we can help arrange this for you.

Applicants whose first language is not English may be required to provide evidence of appropriate English-language ability.

All applications are considered individually. Before accepting an enrolment or payment, our training team will check your qualifications, professional background and practical experience to ensure that this is the correct progression route for you.

WHAT WILL I STUDY?

The qualification contains five mandatory units:

Dermatology, Anatomy and Pathophysiology for Clinical Aesthetic Practice – developing advanced understanding of facial anatomy, skin health, dermatological conditions and the physiological factors that influence clinical aesthetic procedures

Complication Management for Aesthetic Practice – recognising, preventing and responding appropriately to adverse events and complications within aesthetic practice

Body Dysmorphia Disorder and Psychological First Aid in Beauty, Wellness and Aesthetic Practice – developing awareness of psychological wellbeing, body-image concerns, professional boundaries and appropriate support or referral

Clinical Aesthetic Procedures: Botulinum Toxin Injections for the Face – developing advanced knowledge, consultation skills, treatment planning and practical competence for facial botulinum toxin procedures

Clinical Aesthetic Procedures: Temporary Dermal Fillers for the Face – developing advanced knowledge, consultation skills, treatment planning and practical competence for facial temporary dermal filler procedures

HOW WILL I LEARN?

The qualification is delivered through a flexible blended-learning approach designed to support learners balancing study with professional and personal commitments.

You will complete supported theory and coursework alongside regular tutor-led sessions and practical training at our purpose-designed Bristol training centre.

Our classes are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of six learners. This allows time for individual guidance, questions, constructive feedback and close practical supervision.

Throughout the programme, you will be encouraged to connect scientific knowledge with consultation, treatment planning, clinical decision-making and reflective practice.

PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE

Developing safe and confident practical competence is central to this qualification.

For both the botulinum toxin and dermal filler units, learners are required to complete substantial practical evidence, including formative and summative procedures.

This includes:

• Ten formative facial botulinum toxin procedures
• Ten summative facial botulinum toxin procedures
• Ten formative facial dermal filler procedures
• Ten summative facial dermal filler procedures
• Consultation, consent and treatment-planning evidence
• Practical observations and competency assessments
• Complication-prevention and management evidence
• Reflective practice and professional discussion

Practical work must be completed under appropriate supervision and in accordance with the qualification requirements, current legislation, professional standards and centre policies.

Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine. Learners and practitioners must work within the law, their professional scope, insurance requirements and appropriate prescribing and clinical-governance arrangements.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

Assessment is completed on a pass-or-fail basis and may include:

• Practical observation and competency assessment
• Short-answer and extended-response questions
• Professional discussions
• Oral questioning
• Written assignments and treatment documentation
• Consultation and complication-management evidence
• Scenario-based activities and role play
• Reflective journals
• A professional portfolio demonstrating knowledge and practical competence

Assessments are internally marked and quality assured by Sisu’amor, with external quality assurance carried out by Qualifi.

You will receive regular tutor guidance and constructive feedback throughout the programme, helping you understand what is required and progress through each stage with confidence.
