 Entry Requirements:

Applicants must be aged 18 or over to enrol in this qualification.

A First Aid at Work qualification or equivalent is also required.

As part of the course, the AP301 Skincare to Support Aesthetic Procedures unit is included to provide essential underpinning knowledge, ensuring learners are fully prepared for the advanced aesthetic procedure units.

• Health, Safety, and Hygiene for Aesthetic Procedures – Ensuring safe practice during all treatments.
• Client Consultation for Aesthetic Procedures – Conducting thorough consultations to assess client needs and suitability for treatments.
• Biochemistry and Biology of Cells – Understanding cellular structure and function to support effective aesthetic treatments.
• Skin Morphology and the Inflammatory Response – Gaining insight into how the skin reacts to treatments and the healing process.
• Skin Disorders and Diseases Relative to Aesthetic Practice – Recognising and understanding common skin conditions that impact aesthetic treatments.
• Skin Rejuvenation Using a Plasma Device – Learning the application and benefits of plasma technology for skin rejuvenation and improving skin imperfections.
• Skin Rejuvenation Using Dermaplaning – Mastering the dermaplaning technique to safely exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin for improved texture and radiance.
• Skincare to Support Aesthetic Procedures (AP301) – This unit, included as part of the course, ensures learners develop essential knowledge for supporting and enhancing aesthetic procedures.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Health, safety, and hygiene for aesthetic procedures – learners will be able to apply their knowledge and understanding of implementing the essential health, safety and hygiene measures when preparing for aesthetic procedures

1. Client consultation for aesthetic procedures – underpins the practical technical unit/s within this qualification. Learners will be able to conduct a concise consultation to determine and/or adapt the required procedure/s to meet the client’s needs and achieve the desired outcome/s.
2. Biochemistry and Biology of Cells – Learners will gain an understanding of cell biology and biochemistry, including cell structure, function, and specialization, to support informed decisions in aesthetic practice and how treatments interact at the cellular level.
3. Skin Morphology and the Inflammatory Response – Learners will understand the structure and function of the skin, including the mechanisms of the inflammatory response, and how these relate to aesthetic procedures.
4. Skin Disorders and Diseases Relative to Aesthetic Practice – Learners will be able to identify common skin disorders and diseases, assess their impact on aesthetic procedures, and make appropriate modifications to ensure safe and effective treatment.
5. Skin rejuvenation using a plasma device – learners will be able to use a plasma device to rejuvenate the skin and reduce or remove skin imperfections and mild pigmentary conditions.
6. Skin Rejuvenation Using Dermaplaning – Learners will acquire the skills to perform dermaplaning safely, understanding technique application, safety measures, and customisation to optimise results for various skin types.
7. Skincare to Support Aesthetic Procedures (AP301) – Learners will develop foundational knowledge in skincare to support aesthetic treatments, focusing on pre and post-treatment care to enhance and sustain the benefits of aesthetic procedures.

Course Structure:

This diploma is delivered over 6-9 months through a flexible, blended learning format. Learners will complete the theory components from home, supported by regular online and in-person session. Practical training will take place in our fully equipped training centre, ensuring you gain hands-on experience.

Learners will be assessed through a combination of SAQs, written assignments, practical assessments and case studies. These assessments are designed to ensure learners have the theoretical understanding and practical skills to perform advanced aesthetic procedures safely and effectively.
